Gender Affirming Integration of HIV and Cancer Healthcare among Transgender and Nonbinary (Trans) People of Color in Washington

This qualitative project is intended to explore social determinants of healthcare inequities among trans populations of color to guide HIV, gender-affirming care, and cancer prevention intervention efforts. We would like to understand how to best integrate these efforts to meet the needs of trans adults, and to address personal, social, environmental, structural, and economic factors that impact the use of these services to improve delivery. We are looking to recruit 30 transfeminine, transmasculine, and nonbinary individuals of color who have experience with navigating cancer prevention and treatment services within Washington state. We are also looking to conduct interviews with 10 providers and other healthcare-related stakeholders who engage with trans patients in cancer screening and treatment.
